The Sun Devils may have played their last scrimmage at Camp Tontozona yesterday. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it up this year and am worried it may have been my last chance. Reports are that the school has put the property up for sale. Camp T has been the summer destination for players and fans alike for over 40 years. Legendary coach Frank Kush founded the camp and touted it as a must have for building a tough and unified team. The facilities are lacking, the field is sub-par, and the summer rains caused havoc on afternoon practices, but it is still one of the best places to watch a football game. I understand the school has it's concerns over Camp T, but like most die-hards, I think they should keep it and continue at least a portion of the tradition. I guess the best way to evaluate Camp T is how this year's team will do after not spending significant time there. If it's a disappointing year, school officials may be taking down the for sale sign. Let's just hope its not too late.
